Research Focus
Dr. Andres J Garcia's research lab focuses on biomedical engineering solutions to improve health outcomes for chronic diseases, particularly in lung fibrosis and type 1 diabetes. The lab is pioneering novel biomaterials to understand how mechanical signals influence cellular behavior in lung fibrosis and developing hydrogel technologies that help protect and promote the survival of insulin-producing cells for diabetes treatment.
