Dr. Jeffrey B Ware's lab focuses on understanding how traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) can lead to long-term cognitive decline and dementia, specifically through the lens of microvascular injury. By using advanced MRI techniques, the lab investigates how changes in brain blood flow and vascular health after TBIs contribute to brain degeneration over time. This research aims to improve patient outcomes by identifying new ways to predict and treat cognitive impairments resulting from TBIs.
